Monitoring of illegal activities within specially protected natural areas
Illegal activities that are harmful to specially protected natural landscape are not uncommon. It is advisable to conduct regular space monitoring of the territory based on high resolution images. The main activities results of which can be detected by remote sensing data are the following:
- illegal construction specially protected natural areas including the impact on such areas;
- landfills;
- ground disorders / ground opening, illegal mining;
- excessive recreational load and infrastructure development;
- fells within protected areas.
Methods: automated and visual interpretation of multi-temporal satellite images using field and statistical information, damage assessment in accordance with special regulations.
Results: schemes and maps, special thematic maps, statistical reports, cost value of the damage, etc.
