Floods
The increased variability of natural conditions, wear and tear of existing hydraulic structures, violations of rules of potentially dangerous areas usage, including construction in floodplains, have led to an increase in the number of emergency situations involving floods and channel processes. In this regard, it is necessary to take appropriate measures to monitor and prevent threats to the population.
Monitoring, forecasting and impact assessment can be based on remote methods. Detailed analysis of satellite images allows to identify the degree of the development of adverse processes as well as to conduct a rapid analysis of existing hydraulic structures and to assess the potential hazard to towns and industrial facilities.
Types of work:
Monitoring, forecasting and impact assessment can be based on remote methods. Detailed analysis of satellite images allows to identify the degree of the development of adverse processes as well as to conduct a rapid analysis of existing hydraulic structures and to assess the potential hazard to towns and industrial facilities.
Types of work:
- the creation of digital terrain models to solve the problems of modeling the water level rises in case of floods or emergencies at hydraulic structures;
- monitoring of rivers opening and ice jams formation;
- creation of maps of flooding consequences;
- damage assessment;
- planning of protective measures and consequences elimination works.
Methods: photogrammetric processing of stereo images, radar data processing, automated interpretation.
